Lower Back Pain - what's causing it and how can we fix it?
According to the studies, low back pain is one of the most frequent problems that people complain of and one of the biggest reasons that people miss work. Many factors can cause low back pain, and many of these can be controlled by your own understanding and change in habits. Here are a few examples: How many times did your mother tell you to sit or stand up straight when you were growing up? Well, this is still the case…your spine is meant to be erect! For example, leaning f

What did you do over the holiday weekend to help your posture?
I want you to sit back (you probably already are) and just think of all the things that you do in a day leaning forward with your arms out in front of you… for example, eating, working at a computer, cleaning, gardening, among many others. Now, what is your sitting posture like? Do you slouch on the couch at night to watch TV because your couch is actually too big for you? Or what about sleeping… do you sleep on your side or use 2 pillows if you are on your back? So looking a

Have you ever thought about what sitting and staring at a screen all day does to your eyes?
We, at FitTime5, have been trying to educate you about all the dangers of sitting all day behind your desk. Hopefully, by now, you realize it is not good for your back, your legs, your circulation and a myriad of other concerns. But...have you thought about what you are doing to your eyes when you sit all day and stare at a screen for hours at a time? According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), the average American employee spends seven hours per day on the comput

Have you ever taken time to think about your sitting position? As you are looking at office chairs, or your own chairs in your living room, there are a few things to consider. First, if you sit all the way back in the chair, do your feet touch the floor? They need to be well-supported. If not, the chair is probably too big or too high for you. This can lead to pain in your lower back or legs because they aren’t supported. There a couple of things that might help: 1) try a low

Look UP!
So let’s ask you a few questions… How is your posture? Do your neck muscles feel sore or tired throughout the day? Do you ever get headaches throughout the day? All day long, gravity pulls us forward and down towards the ground. This can be very damaging to your neck, shoulders and back, as well as can lead to headaches, organ failure, and a long-list of injuries and disfunctions. As we look down, the muscles in the back of our necks lengthen (and actually weaken), whereas th

Video Complete! Check it!
The final prep work has been finished! We now have a video posted on our home page which discusses the problems we see and why we think there’s a huge need for an app like this. We see so many fitness apps that help people exercise or stretch before and after work, if they actually stay consistent in keeping up with it. What we haven’t seen is a simple, engaging app that focuses on your time AT WORK, making sure that you take 5 minutes at least a few times per day to get up a
